What is the cost for the program?
Horizons is a scholarship program valued at $3,200 per student and the only fee for families is a $50 registration fee. You pay this fee only if your child is accepted into the program. There is no cost to apply.
Where is the program held?
The program takes place on the campus of the Dedham Country Day School in Dedham, MA.
Do you provide transportation?
Yes. School buses pick up children at a designated bus stop near their homes and deliver them to Dedham Country Day School and leave DCD at 3:00pm. There is no transportation for the extended day program.
What is the attendance policy?
We have a very firm no vacation policy, and children are expected to be here every day for the full six weeks. If you take your child on vacation during the program or he/she has unexcused absences, he or she will not be invited to return the following summer.
What if my student is older, can they still apply?
Horizons has limited space and priority is given to students who have attended in previous summers. Each year there are typically a few open spaces that Horizons begins to recruit for in the spring.
My student has been with Horizons for the past few years, but we are moving out of Boston/Dedham, can they still apply to re-enroll?
Yes. As long as the student can commit to getting to Horizons each day the 10 year commitment follows the student regardless of them moving.
My student is returning this year, but I am having trouble re-enrolling them, what can I do?
Please join us for one of our re-enrollment nights this winter! One will be held at the Phineas Bates School in Roslindale on January 11th between 4:45 and 6:45 p.m. The second one will be held at DCD on February 8th between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. If you have any questions please call with Wanny at 781-915-2628 or Morgan at 781-915-2626.
